''I started casting because I wanted to bring the plant worlds wisdom back into the light. I wanted to be able to share the wonder and the magick that plants have to offer... to incorporate them into these beautiful, carefully made jewels.''
‘’When I started Botanical Stone (then Coyote Stone) in 2015, it was as a creative outlet for my self-directed learning in silversmithing. At that time, I was making a lot of chunky turquoise rings and statement pieces that were very, very raw.
As my style changed, my love of plants only grew and while studying herbal medicine, I became fascinated with the thought of encapsulating a plants energy and geometry into metal- birthing beautiful, wearable works of art- and from there I got into casting’’
After the birth of her 4th child, and after many years hand-making each and every piece herself, Jess started working with a small team of skilled artisans that have been helping to bring her designs to life ever since.
''I hope that when you wear these jewels, there is a part of you that gets reactivated... a remembrance or a re-knowing... a sweet whisper that invites these plants to reconnect to you- and you, with them. To carry a plants energy in this way is something... beautiful and special!'
𓋺 Our philosophy 𓋺
𓋺 Our Ethical standards 𓋺
It is very important to us here at Botanical Stone to keep our practices as sustainable as possible, and we have made an effort to seek positive solutions in every aspect of our business. We continue to seek better alternatives and it is our ultimate goal to be a carbon positive business.
We work with a beautiful fair trade manufacturer who treats their employees respectfully, paying them well and offering both health insurance and maternity leave.
Wherever possible, our stones are purchased from small family owned mines so we know exactly where they are coming from.
We keep our business practices as plastic free as possible by using compostable and recycled paper packaging and have partnered with Onetreeplanted.org to plant a tree with every sale- focusing on Australian projects that are rehabilitating areas devastated by recent bushfires.
This is a project that is close to our heart and we are beyond grateful to work alongside an organisation that is doing such incredible work.
